Anti-Factor IX Recombinant Rab

Factor IX is a vitamin K-dependent plasma glycoprotein that plays a critical role in the blood coagulation cascade. It is synthesized in the liver and circulates in an inactive form until activated to Factor IXa by Factor XIa or the tissue factor-Factor VIIa complex. Once activated, Factor IXa, in combination with Factor VIIIa, forms the tenase complex, which activates Factor X—a crucial step in the generation of thrombin and the formation of a fibrin clot. Deficiency or dysfunction of Factor IX leads to Hemophilia B (also known as Christmas disease), a genetic bleeding disorder characterized by impaired blood clotting. Because of its essential role in hemostasis, Factor IX is a major focus of research in coagulation disorders, gene therapy, and novel anticoagulant development.
