Thrombospondin type-1 domain-containing protein 7A (THSD7A) is a protein involved in actin cytoskeleton rearrangement and plays a significant role in cell migration and tissue remodeling. It is implicated in various physiological processes, including angiogenesis and renal function. THSD7A has been shown to promote endothelial cell migration and filopodia formation during sprouting angiogenesis, with its soluble form contributing to these processes via a FAK-dependent mechanism. Additionally, autoantibodies against THSD7A are associated with membranous nephropathy, a type of kidney disease, highlighting its importance in immune system regulation and renal health.
