巨噬细胞培养基是为正常人类巨噬细胞体外培养设计的适于其生长的培养基。经灭菌的液体培养基，包含必需和非必需氨基酸、维生素、有机和无机化合物、激素、生长因子、微量矿物质和低浓度胎牛血清(5%)。该培养基缓冲体系为重碳酸盐，在含5%CO2的细胞培养箱中平衡后pH值为7.4。该培养基的配方能够选择性的促进正常人类巨噬细胞体外培养中的增殖和生长，并为其达到理想营养平衡状态提供数量上和质量上的保证。
巨噬细胞培养基包含500 ml基础培养基，25ml胎牛血清(FBS,目录编号0025)，5ml巨噬细胞生长添加物(MaGS,目录编号1972)，和5 ml青霉素/链霉素溶液(P/S,目录编号0503)

胎牛血清是细胞培养常用的添加物， 目前享有盛誉的Life等国际品牌的最好胎牛血清价格飞涨，500ML从原来的3000-4000元涨到现在7000-8000元，给很多科研单位或机构造成了巨大的压力，不管是科研单位还是经销商都费劲心机储备高质量的国际进口血清。然而前期储备的较低价格的进口血清总有用完的一天， 因此国内相关单位非常关注寻求新型的细胞培养基。 但并不是所有的细胞培养需要最高质量的胎牛血清， 而且市场上有些培养基完全可以替代昂贵的Life等国际品牌血清。 笔者对哺乳细胞培养过程中培养
