| In Vitro | Cyclic-di-GMP(50 microM)inhibits both basal and growth factor(acetylcholine and epidermal growth factor)-induced cell proliferation of human colon cancer(H508)cells. Cyclic-di-GMP showed no lethal cytotoxicity to normal rat kidney cells and human neuroblastoma cells.[1] When exposed to 50 microM Cyclic-di-GMP，Jurkat cells exhibited a markedly elevated expression of the CD4 receptor. Cyclic-di-GMP causes blockage of the cell cycle at the S-phase，characterized by increased cellular thymidine uptake，reduction in G2/M-phase cells，increase in S-phase cells and decreased cell division. Cyclic-di-GMP binds irreversibly to the P21ras protein.[2] |
