琥珀酰辅酶A钠盐已用于:

- 用作重组大肠杆菌中的己二酸生物合成底物
- 蛋白质琥珀酰化的异柠檬酸脱氢酶(ICDH)处理
- 用作底物，研究酶，比如乙酸盐：琥珀酸辅酶A转移酶和5-氨基乙酰丙_酸合成酶(ALA合成酶)的特异性和动力学。
生化/生理作用
琥珀酰辅酶A在柠檬酸循环中是中间体。它通过α-酮戊二酸脱氢酶催化α-酮戊二酸脱羧。琥珀酰辅酶A也可在单链脂肪酸β-氧化过程中由丙酰辅酶A形成。琥珀酰辅酶A在血红素合成中作为前体。它还可以用于酮体氧化。
