Description :Nanog is a homeodomain-containing transcription factor that is essential for early embryonicdevelopment. It is primarily expressed in pluripotent embryonic stem (ES) cells and cancer celllines, maintaining the undifferentiated status of the cells and is downregulated upondifferentiation. Si-RNA mediated knockdown of Nanog in ES cells induces lineagedifferentiation. Overexpression of Nanog allows for the leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF)-independent self-renewal in undifferentiated ES cells. Nanog functionally works with OCT4 andSOX2 to support pluripotency and self-renewal in ES cells and the expression of Nanog isregulated by OCT4/SOX2 heterodimers. Expression of Nanog has been detected in severaltypes of tumor cells. The expression level of Nanog in cancer cells has been shown to becorrelated with the malignancy of cancers.

Recommended Usage :Each lot of this antibody is quality control tested by immunocytochemistry. Forimmunocytochemistry, a concentration range of 0.1 - 10 μg/ml is recommended. It is recommendedthat the reagent be titrated for optimal performance for each application.
Brilliant Violet 421™ excites at 405 nm and emits at 421 nm. The standard bandpass filter 450/50nm is recommended for detection. Brilliant Violet 421™ is a trademark of Sirigen Group Ltd.
