产品概述
Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. Tight junction strands serve as a physical barrier to prevent solutes and water from passing freely through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cell sheets. Claudins are located in both epithelial and endothelial cells in all tight junction-bearing tissues. Claudin-5 is expressed in the endothelial junctions of the rat liver and in junctions of acinar cells of the pancreas. Human Claudin-5 is abundantly expressed in adult lung, heart and skeletal muscle and is deleted in patients with velocardiofacial syndrone, which is characterized by cleft palate, facial dysmorphology and conotruncal heart defects.
