Background:
ASFV is a large icosahedral DNA virus, p30 and p54 are externally located virus structural proteins 30 and 25 kDa, encoded by the virus genes CP204L and E183L, respectively. African swine fever virus proteins p54 and p30 are involved in two distinct step of virus attachment and both contribute to the antibody mediated protective immune responses. ASFV p54 is an essential virus protein involved in the early steps of viral infection and the adsorption of ASFV to susceptible cells.
