亦称黄体生成素释放激素（luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone，LH-RH），自下丘脑提取的一种激素。为10个氨基酸的肽，目前已能人工合成。能使黄体生成素释放，也能使促卵泡激素释放。较集中分布于正中隆起外侧区，弓状核、下丘脑视前区、多突室管膜细胞、松果体等处也有分布。促性腺激素释放激素与腺垂体促性腺细胞特异受体结合，通过激活腺苷酸环化酶-cAMP-蛋白激酶系统，促进腺垂体合成和释放促性腺激素。其分泌调节受新皮层与其多突触连系，影响促性腺激
