| 产品介绍 | This gene is a classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily. The encoded protein is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. The protein functions during gastrulation and is required for establishment of left-right asymmetry. At certain central nervous system synapses, presynaptic to postsynaptic adhesion is mediated at least in part by this gene product. Function: Cadherins are calcium dependent cell adhesion proteins. They preferentially interact with themselves in a homophilic manner in connecting cells; cadherins may thus contribute to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types. CDH2 may be involved in neuronal recognition mechanism. In hippocampal neurons, may regulate dendritic spine density. Subcellular Location: Cell membrane. Similarity: Contains 5 cadherin domains. 钙粘着蛋白(cadherin)是细胞质膜中的细胞粘着分子,但是这种分子介导的细胞粘着受Ca2 的调节。钙粘着分子家族中比较熟知的属于膜整合糖蛋白的成员有:E-钙粘着蛋白(主要在表皮组织中)、N-钙粘着蛋白(存在神经组织中)、P-钙粘着蛋白(主要存在于胎盘)。钙粘着蛋白的细胞外部分有600个氨基酸残基,组成四个重复的Ca2 结合结构域,细胞质部分有150个氨基酸。
