【背景知识】
一组粘蛋白型糖蛋白唾液酰刘易斯抗原（SLA），如CA19-9和CA19-5，已被公认为胃肠道癌的循环癌相关抗原。CA19-9是最重要和最基本的碳水化合物肿瘤标记物。CA19-9在组织中的免疫组织学分布与定量测定CA19-9浓度高于正常或炎症组织的结果一致。最近的报道表明，胰腺癌、结直肠癌、胃癌和肝癌等各种胃肠道恶性肿瘤患者的血清CA19-9水平经常升高。与CEA一起，CA19-9升高提示炎症性胆囊疾病中的胆囊肿瘤。这种肿瘤相关抗原在某些非恶性疾病中也可能升高。研究表明，血清CA19-9值可用于监测上述诊断为恶性肿瘤的受试者。LFTHA已经表明，治疗后血清CA19-9值持续升高可能预示着隐性转移和/或残留疾病。持续升高的血清CA19-9值可能与进行性恶性疾病和不良治疗反应有关。CA19-9值下降可能表明预后良好，治疗反应良好。
