百日咳杆菌（ bordetella pertussis ）是人类百日咳的病原菌。百日咳杆菌为卵圆形短小杆菌，大小为 0.5 ～ 1.5 × 0.2 ～ 0.5um ，属鲍特氏菌属 bordetella) ，无鞭毛、芽胞。革兰氏染色阴性。用甲苯胺蓝染色可见两极异染颗粒。专性需氧，初次分离培养时营养要求较高，需用马铃薯血液甘油琼脂培养基（即鲍～金氏培养基）才能生长。经 37 ℃ 2 ～ 3 天培养后，可见细小、圆形、光滑、凸起、银灰色、不透明的菌落，周围有模糊的溶血
