  Product Description: This antibody was developed using Glutathione (GSH)-KLH conjugates and affinity purified with antigen-specific affinity chromatography. The antibody could be utilized for detection and quantitation of the reduced (GSH) and oxidized (GSSG) glutathione, glutathionylated proteins and peptides.

  Scientific Description: Glutathione is a tripeptide. It contains an unusual peptide linkage between the amine group of cysteine and the carboxyl group of the glutamate side chain. Glutathione, an antioxidant, protects cells from toxins such as free radicals. Glutathione could also modified proteins via the cysteine residues and formed the glutationylated proteins via disulfide bind with the protein cysteine residue. Redox proteomics of glutathionylated proteins in oxidatively stressed human T lymphocytes have been reported.
