Product Description: Chloramphenicol is covalently linked to HRP through acylation. Chloramphenicol-labeled HRP could be utilized for direct competitive ELISA for detection and quantitation of Chloramphenicol.
Conjugation: Chloramphenicol-Succinyl-NHS active ester, via acylation reaction. Chloramphenicol/HRP molar ratio, approximately 3:1.
Formulation: 0.5 mg/mL in peroxidase stabilizing buffer
Storage & Stability: Store product at – 20 ℃. Three years from date of shipping.

Scientific Description: Chloramphenicol is a bacteriostatic antimicrobial originally derived from the bacterium Streptomyces venezuelae isolated by David Gottlieb, and introduced into clinical practice in 1949.It was the first antibiotic to be manufactured synthetically on a large scale. Chloramphenicol is effective against a wide variety of microorganisms; it is still very widely used in low income countries because it is exceedingly cheap. Detection and quantitation of Chloramphenicol in food (feed) become common due to the issue of antibiotic abuse.
