细胞凋亡分析的检测试剂盒。碘化丙啶(Propidium Iodide, PI)是一种可以嵌合到双链 DNA 和 RNA 的碱基对中并与之结合的荧光染料，
无碱基特异性。碘化丙啶与双链 DNA 结合后可以产生荧光，并且荧光强度和双链 DNA 的含量成正比。细胞内的 DNA 被 Propidium
Iodide 染色后，可以用流式细胞仪对细胞进行 DNA 含量测定，然后根据 DNA 含量的分布情况，可以进行细胞周期和细胞凋亡的分析。
碘化丙啶染色后，假设 G0/G1 期细胞的荧光强度为 1，那么含有双份基因组 DNA 的 G2/M 期细胞的荧光强度的理论值为 2，正在进
行 DNA 复制的 S 期细胞的荧光强度为 1～2 之间。凋亡细胞由于细胞核发生浓缩以及发生 DNA 片段化(DNAfragmentation)导致部分
基因组 DNA 片断在染色过程中丢失，因此凋亡细胞碘化丙啶染色后呈现明显的弱染，即荧光强度小于 1，在流式检测的荧光图上出现所
谓的 sub-G1 峰，即凋亡细胞峰。
细胞凋亡时，流式细胞检测可呈现亚二倍体核型的特征，根据光散射的特点，PI 染色可以区分细胞凋亡和细胞坏死的细胞峰型。细胞凋
亡时，出现凋亡细胞皱缩、染色质浓缩、核碎裂，产生凋亡小体，使细胞的前向光散射低于正常。在细胞凋亡的早期，细胞对前向角光散
射的能力显著降低，对侧向光散射的能力增加或没有变化。在细胞凋亡的晚期，前向和侧向光散射的信号均降低。细胞坏死时细胞多表现
为细胞肿胀，因此前向光散射高于正常，对侧向光散射高于正常。
Cell Cycle and Apoptosis Analysis Kit 经常用于培养的贴壁或悬浮细胞的细胞周期与细胞凋亡检测，亦可用于区分细胞凋亡和细胞坏死。
该试剂盒检测细胞含量范围一般为 0.1～1×106之间。
