Von Frey 纤维丝（以德国生理学家 Max von Frey 的名字命名，1852-1932 年），最初是由不同直径的动物和人类毛发制成的，现在它们制成为尼龙单丝， 直径决定了单丝的抗弯能力。 一根细丝垂直于皮肤放置，逐渐增加力直到它弯曲，从而确定施加的力的大小。
Aesthesio® 20 根单丝套装基于 Semmes Weinstein 单丝套装，但现在配备了可以旋转装置保护纤维丝并允许评估者在口袋中随身携带几根。

Von Frey 纤维丝在临床环境中有着长期有效的使用历史，可用于诊断高或低感觉的病理学。
工作原理始终保持不变：当给定长度和直径的纤维丝尖端以直角压在皮肤上时，只要研究人员继续推进探头， 施加的力就会增加，直到纤维丝弯曲。纤维丝弯曲后，继续前进会产生更多的弯曲，但不会产生更多的作用力。
这一原理使研究人员可以在一个很宽的公差范围内使用手持式探头对皮肤表面施加一个可重现的力。
当老鼠爪子被意外接触时，啮齿动物表现出爪子缩回反射。Touch Test™ Sensory Evaluator 可用于大鼠或小鼠足底表面，动物将通过向后拉爪来表示感觉。
纤维丝可更换。20个纤维丝中的不同组合区分身体不同部位（脚、手、唇、脸颊等）的病理。旋转套筒在关闭位置时保护精密纤维丝。
可选配件
为了方便快捷地用Von Frey 纤维丝刺激足底表面，我们提供了一个90x38cm的穿孔金属平台，37450-005。激光穿孔形成一个网状的开放方孔网格~5X5mm；插入式金属格栅约 1mm宽，对动物舒适，易于查看爪子的目标区域。
搁板涂有聚合物树脂，易于清洁，不会被液体或废料损坏。 将搁板安装在墙上。
还有另一方案，我们提供40或80厘米长支撑柱的架子，分别为 37450-045和 37450-085，可与我们的标准动物围栏37000-006 配套使用，后者是模块化围栏，无需与足底测试仪和动态足底测试仪一起适用，其中 3 个空间可以进一步分为 2 或 4 个分区，因此最多可容纳 12 只大鼠或小鼠。
您还可以考虑完整的刺激底座 37450-278，包括支撑柱、架子和动物围栏。

Von Frey纤维丝在人体手部、足部触觉测试中的应用：
Von Frey纤毛机械刺激针也可叫做Touch-Test单丝测试盒、Semmes-Weinstein触觉测量尼龙丝，能测试和评估感觉水平，每个Touch-Test™单丝测试笔被单独校准，力量值在5%的标准偏差范围内，以此可测试感觉水平。
利用Touch-Test™单丝感觉测试套装来测试感觉水平，获取客观数据，可以准确报告正在减少或回复的感觉状态；
测试根据预先设定的力的5%的标准偏差进行的；
当达到峰值力阈值时，单丝测试笔的单丝呈弯曲形状；
独特的手柄设计使Touch-Test™单丝测试笔可以轻松地打开90°角进行测试；关闭时，测试笔可以被安全地放在口袋或手提箱中，以确保可以在不使用时保护单丝；

The Semmes-Weinstein monofilaments provide an approximate logarithmic scale of actual force, and a linear scale of perceived intensity. They have a long history of effective use in clinical settings, and can be used to diagnose pathologies of hyper- or hypo-aesthesia. Subs*ets within the set of 20 probes distinguish pathologies on different parts of the body (foot, hand, lip, cheek,etc.).
Operating Principle When the tip of a fiber of given length and diameter is pressed against the skin at right angles, the force of application increases as long as the researcher continues to advance the probe, until the fiber bends. After the fiber bends, continued advance creates more bend, but not more force of application. This makes it possible for the researcher using a hand-held probe to apply a reproducible force, within a wide tolerance, to the skin surface.
Pre-Clinical Use Rodents exhibit a paw withdrawal reflex when the paw is unexpectedly touched. The Touch Test? Sensory Evaluator can be used on the Plantar surfaces of the foot of a rat or mouse. The animal indicates sensation by pulling back its paw. Individual filaments available.
