LS-F11113 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human Ceramide Kinase / CERK in samples of Plasma and Serum. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of Ceramide Kinase / CERK as low as 0.625 nanograms per millilter.

Quality Assurance
Due to their limited shelf life, LSBio ELISA kits are not typically stocked as finished goods. Upon receipt of an order each kit is assembled and tested to ensure that it meets specifications before shipping. Minor changes may occur to the Range, Sensitivity, and Precision. In the event of a significant change the order would be confirmed with the customer before shipping ELISA kit lot numbers reflect the date of final assembly and testing for each specific kit rather than a bulk manufactured lot. All kits are tested to confirm that they fall within their defined Inter- and Intra- assay coefficient of variation.
Kit Components
CERK, which phosphorylates Cer to produce ceramide 1-phosphate (C1P), was initially described as a Ca2+-stimulated lipid kinase that copurified with brain synaptic vesicles. CERK activity has been reported in HL60 cells, mast cells, and neutrophils. CERK is involved in phagolysosome formation in polymorphonuclear leukocytes and also in liposome fusion. C1P has been reported to have mitogenic effects. More recently, C1P was found to induce arachidonic acid release and prostanoid synthesis. Q8TCT0NM_022766NP_073603.2
