LS-F5929 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human CFI / Complement Factor I in samples of Plasma and Serum. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of CFI / Complement Factor I as low as 0.156 nanograms per millilter.
About CFI / Complement Factor I
CFI / Complement Factor I is a serine proteinase that is essential for regulating the complement cascade. The encoded preproprotein is cleaved to produce both heavy and light chains, which are linked by disulfide bonds to form a heterodimeric glycoprotein. This heterodimer can cleave and inactivate the complement components C4b and C3b, and it prevents the assembly of the C3 and C5 convertase enzymes. Uniprot: P05156 NCBI: NM_000204 NP_000195.2
