文献和实验卵泡刺激素（follicle-stimulating hormone，FSH）
垂体前叶嗜碱性细胞分泌的一种激素，成分为糖蛋白。主要作用为促进卵泡成熟。人卵泡刺激素促进卵泡颗粒层细胞增生分化，促进整个卵巢长大。作用于睾丸曲细精管可促进精子形成。注射FSH只增加卵泡数目，对卵泡成熟并无作用。下丘脑分泌的促卵泡激素释放激素控制卵泡刺激素的分泌。在月经周期中，血中FSH浓度及每日由尿排泄的FSH的量随周期变化而变化。在停经后，血和尿中FSH排出量增加。

卵泡刺激素 follicle－stimulating hormone
一种性腺刺激激素，缩写 FSH．是由脑垂体前叶嗜碱性细胞分泌。脊椎动物的雌性，可刺激未成熟卵泡，促进卵泡细胞增殖与卵泡腔的形成。但是能使脑垂体摘除的雌性的卵巢形成成熟卵泡，仅 FSH是不够的，尚需黄体生成素。另外，仅有 FSH卵巢不能分泌动情素。对睾丸，可促进精原细胞的分裂、增殖，但仅有 FSH不能形成精子也不能刺激间隙细胞。如果加少量黄体生成素就能引起雄性激素的分泌和精子的形成。 FSH为糖蛋白，分子量约 3万，约有 5％的硅铝酸在激活 FSH的活性方面起重要作用。它由两个亚单位形成
