Product Description

LS-F32386 is a 96-well enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the Quantitative detection of Human Angiotensin II in samples of Plasma, Serum and Tissue Homogenates. It is based upon a Sandwich assay principle and can be used to detect levels of Angiotensin II as low as 31.25 picograms per milliliter.
About Angiotensin II
Angiotensin is a peptide hormone that causes vasoconstriction and a subsequent increase in blood pressure. It is part of the renin-angiotensin system, which is a major target for drugs that lower blood pressure. Angiotensin I is converted to angiotensin II (AII) through removal of two C-terminal residues by the enzyme angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE), primarily through ACE within the lung (but also present in endothelial cells and kidney epithelial cells).

Background
 
This kit was based on sandwich enzyme-linked immune-sorbent assay technology. Anti- ANG II antibody was pre-coated onto 96-well plates. And the biotin conjugated anti- ANG II antibody was used as detection antibodies. The standards, test samples and biotin conjugated detection antibody were added to the wells subsequently, and wash with wash buffer. HRP-Streptavidin was added and unbound conjugates were washed away with wash buffer. TMB substrates were used to visualize HRP enzymatic reaction. TMB was catalyzed by HRP to produce a blue color product that changed into yellow after adding acidic stop solution. The density of yellow is proportional to the ANG II amount of sample captured in plate. Read the O.D. absorbance at 450nm in a microplate reader, and then the concentration of ANG II can be calculated.
