Insulin-Degrading Enzyme (IDE) is a secreted enzyme that belongs to the peptidase M16 family. IDE is a large zinc-binding protease and cleaves multiple short polypeptides that vary considerably in sequence. IDE plays a role in the cellular breakdown of insulin, IAPP, glucagon, bradykinin, kallidin, and other peptides, and thereby plays a role in intercellular peptide signaling. IDE degrades amyloid formed by APP and IAPP. IDE may participate in the degradation and clearance of naturally secreted amyloid β-protein by neurons and microglia. IDE, which migrates at 110 kDa during gel electrophoresis under denaturing conditions, has since been shown to have additional substrates, including the signaling peptides glucagon, TGF α and β-endorphin.

P-selectin glycoprotein ligand 1 is the high affinitycounter-receptor for P-selectin on expressed on activated endothelial cells and platelets. As such, it plays a critical role in the tethering of these cells to activated platelets or endothelia expressing P-selectin. As cell adhesion molecules, multiple studies have shown that PSGL-1/ P-selectin interaction is required for the normal recruitment of leukocytes during inflammatory reactions, and also participates in hemostatic responses. PSGL-1 can also bind to other two members of the selectin family, E-selectin (endothelial) and L-selectin (leukocyte), but binds best to P-selectin.

C-Type Lectin Domain Family 3 Member B (CLEC3B) is a serum and tissue protein and it contais a C-type lectin which binds to Ca++. CLEC3B is originally found in plasma, the concentrations approximately 10mg/l. It can bind to kringle 4 of plasminogen and enhance the activation of plaminogen to plasmin, catalyzed by tissue plasminogen activator in the presence of poly-D-lysine. In addition, CLEC3B may be involved in the packaging of molecules destined for exocytosis. Also, CLEC3B is best known as a prognostic marker in ovarian cancer.
