关于SGSH：
N-Sulphoglucosamine Sulphohydrolase (SGSH) is an important member of the sulfatase family which is involved in the degradation of heparin sulfate. SGSH binds one calcium ion per subunit as a cofactor. SGSH catalyzes N-sulfo-D-glucosamine and H2O to D-glucosamine and sulfate. SGSH deficiency is result in mucopolysaccharidosis type 3A (MPS3A), a recessive lysosomal storage disease characterized by neurological dysfunction but relatively mild somatic manifestations.

关于NOV/CCN3 ：
NOV, also called CCN3, is a secreted protein of CCN family members. CCN family members are highly conserved cysteine rich proteins sharing a common modular structure having 4 conserved domains, insulin-like growth factor-binding protein (IGFBP) domain, von Willebrand type C (VWC) domain, thrombospondin-1 (TSP-1) domain, and C-terminal (CT) domain (absent in CCN5). By specific interactions with these domains, CCN proteins modulate multiple signalling pathways including BMPs, Wnt, TGFs, Notch and integrins to regulate cell proliferation, differentiation, adhesion, migration, angiogenesis, and survival. CCN3 is firstly characterized as a promoter of progenitor activity of human hematopoietic stem cells, as knockdown of CCN3 can abrogate the function of primitive progenitors. Recent studies showed that CCN3 is also actively involved in the process of wound healing. CCN3 is highly expressed in granulation tissues of cutaneous wounds and capable of inducing synthetic responses of fibroblasts.

S100A8 is a member of the S100 family, EF-hand superfamily of Ca-binding proteins. It is produced by neutrophils and monocytes, and forms Ca2+-dependent heterodimer/heterotetramer complexes (termed calprotectin) with S100A9. Calprotectin (S100A8/A9) which has a wide plethora of intra- and extracellular functions. The intracellular functions include: facilitating leukocyte arachidonic acid trafficking and metabolism, modulation of the tubulin-dependent cytoskeleton during migration of phagocytes and activation of the neutrophilic NADPH-oxidase.

Human NEDD8 shares 60% amino acid sequence identity to ubiquitin. The only known substrates of NEDD8 modification are the cullin subunits of SCF ubiquitin E3 ligases.
