Actin-free Vitamin D Binding Protein (VDBP) Matched Antibody Pair
Description
Mouse monoclonal antibodies
Specificity
This product consists of 2 antibodies that in combination can be used to measure actin-free VDBP. HYB 249-05 (as capture antibody) and HYB 249-01B (as biotinylated detection antibody) form a sandwich ELISA pair for measuring actin-free VDBP.

Target
Vitamin-D binding protein (VDBP, DBP, Gc-globulin) is a plasma protein produced in the liver. VDBP has several physiologically important functions such as transporting vitamin D and its metabolites to target cells, binding and sequestering globular actin and binding fatty acids to functioning in the immune system. VDBP is furthermore part of the actin scavenging system, binding and removing monomeric actin from the blood stream. The molecular mass of VDBP is approximately 50 kDa and the concentration of VDBP in human plasma is app. 400 µg/ml.
Application 1
ELISA HYB 249-05 (as capture antibody) forms a sandwich ELISA pair with HYB 249-01B (as biotinylated detection antibody) for measuring actin-free VDBP.
The figure illustrates the calibration curve of a sandwich assay with HYB 249-05 as the capture antibody and HYB 249-01B as the biotinylated detection antibody.
