Lipoic acid即(±)-α-Lipoic acid，也称(±)-1,2-Dithiolane-3-pentanoic acid，6,8-Dithiooctanoic acid，DL-α-Lipoic
acid，DL-6,8-Thioctic acid，DL-Thioctic acid，或Lip(S2)，中文名为硫辛酸。Lipoic acid是一种细胞内天然存在的抗氧化剂，同时也是pyruvate dehydrogenase和glycine decarboxylase等酶复合物的辅酶。
Lipoic acid为粉末，分子量206.33，分子式为C8H14O2S2，纯度大于99%。
溶解于水、乙醇和DMF。在乙醇中溶解度可以达到50mg/ml。
