异缬硫氨酸 isovalthine 发现于甲状腺功能降低（粘液性水肿 myxoede- ma）的患者的尿中（大森晋尔、水原舜尔， 1960）。为半胱氨酸与异戊酸的结合物。在生物体中发现的四种异构体中属 L型的为两种。其合成途径不明。见于猫的正常尿中。

异柠檬酸脱氢酶 isocitrate dehydrogenase 有两种类型的酶：要求以 NAD为辅酶的酶（ EC1． 1． 1． 41）和要 NADP的酶（ EC1． 1． 1． 42），两者催化同一反应。 异柠檬酸 NAD（ P） α -酮戊二酸 CO2 NAP（ P） H H4 在三羧酸循环中正常起作用的是要求 NAD为辅酶的酶，此酶是为 ADP激活的变构酶。
