Stbl4来源于Stbl2菌株该，可用于克隆不稳定质粒DNA例如逆病毒质粒或者含有高度重复序列质粒，同时Stbl4还可以进行蓝白斑筛选。与Stbl2不同，Stbl4为lon+。Stbl4菌株具有链霉素抗性。
