MiniMACSTM分选器适用于分选动物细胞、植物细胞，细菌、病毒、细胞器和mRNA等分子。这种价格低廉的小仪器速度快、灵活且使用方便。MiniMACS分选器适合于分选非常稀有的细胞，可以获得高纯度目的成分。用于阳性分选时，能处理的细胞总量最多可达2×108个细胞，最多能得到1X107个磁性标记细胞。MiniMACSTM分选器可使用MS、大细胞或M分选柱。一个MACSTM分选架（MACSTMMultiStand）上最多可以容纳4个MiniMACS分选器。
MACS磁珠主要有三种：直标磁珠、间标磁珠、多选磁珠。其中间标磁珠有抗免疫球蛋白磁珠、抗生物素磁珠或链霉亲和素磁珠、抗荧光素磁珠。多选磁珠是专门为分选细胞亚群而研制的一种磁珠。这种磁珠通过特殊的方式与抗体偶联，在第一次阳性分选完成后，与细胞结合的多选磁珠可以被解离试剂剪切下来，阳性分选的细胞可以进行再次阳性分选或者去除分选。
