Decorin / DCN抗体背景综述
Decorin is a ubiquitous small cellular or pericellular matrix proteoglycan and is closely related in structure to biglycan protein. It belongs to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family and consists of a core protein and a covalently linked glycosaminoglycan chain which is either chondroitin sulfate (CS) or dermatan sulfate (DS). As a component of connective tissue, decorin interacts with several extracellular matrix components, such as type I collagen and fibronectin, and plays a role in matrix assembly. The decorin core protein also binds to growth factors including TGF-beta, and to the decorin endocytosis receptor. Decorin is capable of suppressing the growth and the metastasis of a wide range of cancer cells in vitro through attenuation of the EGFR -mediated intacellular signaling and induction of apoptosis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants for the decorin gene have been described. Mutations or deficiency of the decorin gene are associated with Marfan syndrome.
