产品描述：PMSG is a complex glycoprotein obtained from the serum of pregnant mares. This 43-63 kda protein is capable of supplementing and being substituted for the follicle stimulating gonadotrophin and interstitial cell-stimulating hormone of the anterior pituitary gland in both the male and female. Thus PMSG-Intervet stimulates development of the ovarian follicle in the female.

文献和实验即妊娠马的血清，简写PMS。含有称为妊娠马血清物质的促性腺物质。妊娠马血清物质的作用，与卵泡刺激素和黄体生成素的作用极为相似，认为是来自胎盘。市售商品名有称 Gonadin者，注射于人体可产生抗激素，或引起过敏。
免疫反应，同时已知也是妊马血清生殖腺刺激激素（pregnant mare’s serum go- nadotropin，PMSG）产生的重要部位，所以与上皮绒毛胎盘是有区别的。像牛或羊一类的反刍动物的胎盘也是结缔组织绒毛性，在内膜上形成称为子宫肉阜（caruncle）的丘状体。此组织与子宫内膜杯的关系并不十分清楚。
