Description
PI3K p110 delta (phosphatidylinositol-4,5-biphosphate 3-kinase catalytic subunit delta isoform) is a member of the PI3/PI4 kinase family containing a B-Zip domain. This 110 kD protein autophosphorylates, but does not phosphorylate p85 like PI3K p110 δ. PI3K p110 delta exhibits a broad phosphoinositide lipid substrate specificity and is required for directional movement in neutrophils, and is involved in B and T cell receptor complex signaling. This isoform interacts with SH2/SH3 domain-containing p85 adaptor proteins and GTP-bound Ras and consists of catalytic p110 and regulatory p85 subunits and is activated by IL-3, IL-4 and SCF. PI3K is modified by phosphorylation. The Poly6049 antibody recognizes human PI3K p100 delta and has been shown to be useful for Western blotting.
