General description
139 kDa（未加工前体）
从小鼠肿瘤组织中提取纯化的Ⅳ型胶原。 抗体显示与人IV型、V型胶原和小鼠I型、II型、III型胶原以及小鼠纤连蛋白和层粘连蛋白的反应性低于0.1%。
胶原是动物体内结缔组织的主要蛋白，是哺乳动物体内最丰富的蛋白，约占总蛋白含量的25%。它是长纤维状的结构蛋白之一，其功能与球状蛋白质（如酶）的功能完全不同；称为胶原纤维的坚韧胶原束是支持大多数组织并从外部赋予细胞结构的细胞外基质的主要成分，但胶原也存在于某些细胞内部。胶原具有很大的抗张强度，是筋膜、软骨、韧带、肌腱、骨和牙齿的主要成分。与柔软的角蛋白一起负责皮肤的强度和弹性，并且其降解会导致伴随衰老出现皱纹。它可增强血管，在组织发育中发挥作用。它以晶体形式存在于眼睛的角膜和晶状体中。胶原存在于全身许多地方。文献中描述了12种类型的胶原。1型胶原：这是人体最丰富的胶原。它存在于瘢痕组织中，是组织通过修复而愈合时的最终产物。存在于肌腱、肌原纤维的肌内膜和骨的有机部分。4型胶原：它存在于基底层和晶状体中。在肾脏的毛细血管和肾单位的肾小球中也作为过滤系统的一部分。
