Immunogen
Purified mouse IgM
Preparation Note
Prepared using the periodate method described by Wilson, M.B., and Nakane, P.K., in Immunofluorescence and Related Staining Techniques, Elsevier/North Holland Biomedical Press, Amsterdam, p215 (1978).
Physical form
Solution in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.4 containing 1% bovine serum albumin and 0.01% thimerosal.
Application
Anti-Mouse IgM (μ-chain specific)-Peroxidase antibody is suitable for use in western blot (1:5000) 1 and ELISA (1:2000) 2.
ELISA was performed to identify auto-antibodies that bind to glomerular antigen extracts from mouse kidneys using HRP-conjugated goat anti-mouse IgM mu chain specific antibody at a dilution of 1:4000.
General description
IgM is a glycoprotein antibody that regulates humoral immune responses. Mouse IgM is involved in modulating B cell memory 3. This antibody isotype has also been implicated in the development of autoimmune responses associated with the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes in mice 4. Anti-Mouse IgM (μ-chain specific)-Peroxidase antibody is specific for mouse IgM when tested against purified mouse IgA, IgM, and IgG.
