Antigen: human PGC-1.alpha. amino acids 75-90 • Host: rabbit • Cross-Reactivity: (+) human, mouse, and rat PGC-1.alpha. and PGC-1.beta.; other species not tested • Application(s): WB and IHC (paraffin-embedded tissue sections); other applications not tested • Three PGC-1 isoforms have been characterized - PGC-1α, PGC-1β, and PGC-1-related coactivator. PGC-1α and PGC-1β are inducible transcriptional coactivators for certain nuclear receptors and play a key role in energy metabolism, hepatic gluconeogenesis, and cholesterol homoeostasis. Changes in PGC-1 levels may play a role in metabolic disorders such as type II diabetes and obesity.
