肥胖RT² Profiler™ PCR Array可以同时测定84个与肥胖相关的基因。外周激素和中枢神经系统的神经递质信号间复杂的相互作用网络在维持能量代谢平衡上起重要作用，从而保持相对稳定的体重。本芯片中包含了直接调节能量摄入和消耗过程中与肥胖相关的基因。这些基因编码促进食欲的神经肽、激素及受体；厌食神经肽、激素及受体；能量消耗相关的中枢和外周信号分子。通过实时定量PCR的方法，研究者即能够利用该芯片简单可靠地同时检测肥胖相关基因的表达。
