Product description:
Recombinant IGF1-Fc protein was expressed from a C-terminal (119-195aa) truncated igf1gene fused with Fc region of human IgG1 at its C-terminus. The chimera was produced in a mammalian cell line. A recombinant IGF1-Fc contains 308 amino acids and is sulfide-linked homodimer. The predicted molecular weight is about 34.4KDa under reduced condition. This recombinant protein was purified by affinity chromatography. Purity is greater than 90% by SDS-PAGE (Figure 1).

Lyophilized from a 0.22μm filtered solution at a concentration of 1mg/mlin PBS.

Reconstitution:
We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute in sterile distilled water to a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml.

Shipping&Stablity:
The Product is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon reconstitution, the preparation is stable for up to 1 month at 2-8°C. For long term storage, apportion the reconstituted preparation into working aliquots and store at -20°C to -70°C. Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles

Background:
Insulin-like growth factor1, also known as somatomedin-C and Mechano growth factor, which shares high sequence similarityto insulin, is member of the insulin family. IGF1 is expressed as two precursors, which is then digested into a 7.6KDa, secreted mature form. Human IGF1 exhibits cross reactivity with that of mouse and rat. IGF-1 is expressed in various tissues and its effects are diverse. It can act as a neurotrophicfactor, which is important in the survival of neurons. It involves in inducing proliferation, migration, differentiation of many other cell types such as skeletal muscleand cartilagecells. Since at high concentrations it is capable of activating the insulin receptor, it can also complement for the effects of insulin. IGF1 may be a physiological regulator in glucose and fatty acid metabolism, steroid hormone activity. It also plays an important role in muscle regeneration and tumor progression.
