文献和实验C18 H44 O，麦角甾 -5， 7， 22-三烯 -3β -醇， 24s-甲基胆甾 -5， 7， 22-三烯 -3β -醇。含于酵母、麦角、香蕈等中的甾醇。是重要的维生素 D原之一，经紫外线作用成为麦角钙化醇（ ergocalciferol，维生素 D2 ）。易溶于热醇、醚、氯仿中，与毛地黄皂苷形成分子化合物。
C27 H44 O，胆甾 -5， 7-二烯 -3β -醇。甾醇的一种。在生物体中以胆甾醇的形态少量存在着。 是维生素 D原的一种。由紫外线照射可转化成维生素 D3 。曾认为是由胆甾醇生物合成的，但现在证明是胆甾醇的生物合成的前体物质。虽然生成毛地黄皂苷化物（ digitonide）但与甾醇毛地黄皂苷化物相比，其溶解度稍高。
