小鼠抗人CD38抗体（克隆号AT13/5）可识别CD38分子。该分子亦称ADP-核糖基环化酶/cADP核糖水解酶1、2'-磷酸-ADP核糖基环化酶、ADP-核糖基环化酶1、环ADP核糖水解酶1或T10蛋白。CD38是由300个氨基酸组成的约45 kDa单次跨膜II型糖蛋白，且本抗体的反应模式与CD38抗体簇中其他抗体一致。该蛋白在浆细胞、单核细胞、早期淋巴细胞及活化T细胞中均有表达。
CD38分子被广泛用于研究B细胞与T细胞的分化及活化过程。作为一种多功能酶，CD38参与钙离子信号传导及烟酰胺腺嘌呤二核苷酸（NAD+）代谢过程（de Oliveira et al. 2018）。
