The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL871 recognizes Synaptophysin, also known as the major synaptic vesicle protein p38, that occurs in presynaptic vesicles of neurons and in similar vesicles of the adrenal medulla. Synaptophysin has four transmembrane domains and it forms a complex with dynamin at high calcium concentrations. It is present in neuroendocrine cells and almost all neurons in the brain and spinal cord that participate in synaptic transmission. Synaptophysin is also involved in the regulation of short-term and long-term synaptic plasticity and acts as a marker for nerve terminals and for differentiating neuroendocrine tumors.
