The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL478 recognizes the cell adhesion molecule human CD49a, which is a 200 kDa heterodimeric integrin receptor. CD49a also known as integrin α1 interacts with integrin β1 (CD29) to form the VLA-1 complex which functions as a receptor for collagen and laminin-1. Integrin α1 plays a role in cell-cell adhesion and T cell proliferation and is expressed by activated T cells, NK cells, neuronal cells, fibroblasts and mesenchymal cells. | Most of the cancer tissues show a weak to moderate cytoplasmic expression of CD49a, whereas lymphomas, prostate and testicular cancers were mainly negative.
