Detection of Bcl-XL+ cellsClone REAL973 is an antibody fragment derived from the full Bcl-XL antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAdye_lease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL973 recognizes Bcl-XL (B-cell lymphoma-extra large), a transmembrane molecule in the mitochondria, encoded by the BCL2-like 1 gene. It is a member of the Bcl-2 family of proteins, and acts as an anti-apoptotic protein by preventing the release of mitochondrial contents such as cytochrome c, which leads to caspase activation and ultimately, programmed cell death. Bcl-XL also acts as a regulator of G2 checkpoint and progression to cytokinesis during mitosis and presynaptic plasticity, including neurotransmitter release and recovery. | For removal of REAdye_lease fluorochromes for optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAdye_lease antibodies use the REAlease Support Kit (130-120-675). |
