Identification and enumeration of CD43+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA503 recognizes the rat CD43 cell surface antigen, also known as leukosialin or sialophorin, which is a 371 amino acid heavily glycosylated single-pass type 1 transmebrane glycoprotein. | CD43 is expressed by most hematopoietic cells including peripheral T cells, NK cells, granulocytes, monocytes, thymocytes, platelets, plasma cells, activated B cells, and hemotopoietic progenitor cells. Leukosialin is involved in the costimulation of cell activation and survival as well as in cell-cell adhesion and anti-adhesion, and plays a role in inducement the apoptosis of T cells and hematopoietic progenitor cells. | Additional information: Clone REA503 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |
