Identification and enumeration of CD272 (BTLA)+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA1293 recognizes the human CD272 protein, which is also known as BTLA (B and T lymphocyte attenuator) and a member of the immunoglobin superfamily. It has structural similarities to PD-1 (programmed cell death 1) and CTLA-4. Expression is found on T and B cells, macrophages, DCs (dendritic cells), NKT cells, and NK cells, it is not expressed by cancer cells. CD272 functions as a receptor that passes inhibitory signals to suppress the immune response. The activation of CD272 inhibits the function of human CD8+ cancer-specific T cells. | Additional information: Clone REA1293 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
