Identification and enumeration of CD248 (Endosialin)+ cellsClone REA1344 recognizes the human CD248 antigen, also known as Endosalin, Tumor endothelial marker 1 (TEM1) or CD164 sialomucin-like 1 (CD164L1). CD248 is a single-pass type I transmembrane glycoptrotein belonging to the Group XIV, a novel family of C-type lectin transmembrane receptors. CD248 is expressed on tumor endothelial cells, in metastatic lesions of the liver pericytes and on stromal fibroblasts. CD248 is suggested to be involved in tumor angiogenesis,development and growth and in lymphoid tissue organization. | REA1344 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. |
