Identification and enumeration of CD179b+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA1066 recognizes the CD179b antigen-like family member B, also known as immunoglobulin lambda like polypeptide (IGLL1). CD179b is expressed on pro–B and pre–B cells, where it is involved in transduction of signals for cellular proliferation, differentiation from the pro–B cell to the pre–B cell stage, allelic exclusion at the Ig heavy chain gene locus, and support of Ig light chain gene rearrangements. The gene encoding for CD179b, as a B cell receptor, belongs to the immunoglobulin gene superfamily. | Additional information: Clone REA1066 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
