Identification and enumeration of CD182 (CXCR2)+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA942 recognizes the mouse CD182 (CXCR2) antigen, which belongs to the class of chemokine receptors specific for CXC chemokines. Chemokine receptors are G-coupled protein receptors (GPCR) with seven-transmembrane domains and consist of an α-subunit and a βγ-complex. | Mouse knockout studies have shown that CD182 (CXCR2) gene inactivation results in several abnormalities including lymphadenopathy and splenomegaly. CD182 (CXCR2) binds several CXCL8-like CXC chemokines, e.g. CXCL1/cytokine-induced neutrophil-attracting cytokine (KC), macrophage inflammatory protein (MIP)-2 and CXCL6/granulocyte chemotactic fact (GCP-2). Studies in mice support a role for CD182 (CXCR2) in the pathology of animal models for arthritis, atherosclerosis and gout. | Additional Information: Clone REA942 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
