Identification and enumeration of CD11a/CD18+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA 880 recognizes the CD11a/CD18 heterodimer, also known as lymphocyte function–associated antigen 1 (LFA-1). LFA-1 is a member of the integrin family and consists of two chains, a (CD11a) and b2 (CD18). It is expressed on T and B cells as well as on macrophages and neutrophils. LFA-1 plays an essential role in the immune system, e.g., in leukocyte adhesion by interaction with ICAM-1 and ICAM-2, in cytotoxic T cell–mediated killing, antibody-dependent killing by granulocytes and monocytes, and in T cell proliferation. | Additional information: Clone REA880 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
