Detection of Thyroid Peroxidase+ cellsClone REA1436 recognizes the Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO), a membrane-bound glycoprotein acts as an enzyme and plays a central role in thyroid gland function.Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) is stimulated by TSH, which upregulates gene expression. Thyroid Peroxidase (TPO) is inhibited by the thioamide drugs, such as propylthiouracil and methimazole. In laboratory rats with insufficient iodine intake, genistein has demonstrated inhibition of TPO. Thyroid peroxidase (TPO) is a frequent epitope of autoantibodies in autoimmune thyroid disease commonly associated with Hashimoto. Mutations in this gene are associated with several disorders of thyroid hormonogenesis. |
