Identification and enumeration of Ikaros+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA1256 recognizes the human Ikaros protein, which is also known as Ikaros family zinc finger 1. Ikaros is a transcription regulator of hematopoietic cell differentiation of lymphocytes, B and T cells, and functions as a major tumor suppressor involved in human B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. It plays a role in fetal to adult globin switching in erythroid cells and increases normal apoptosis in adult erythroid cells. In association with other Ikaros- family members, e.g. Aiolos and Helios, Ikaros forms heterodimers, that are important for normal progression to a mature and immunocompetent state. Ikaros is found in the nucleus to a higher extent in granulocytes, B cells, T cells, and NK cells, and in lower levels in erythroblasts, megakaryocytes, and monocytes. | Additional Information: Clone REA1256 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
