Detection of Iba1 (AIF1)+ cellsClone REA1448 recognizes the Iba1 (AIF-1), also known as allograft inflammatory factor 1, is a well-established marker for microglia/macrophages. It is a 17-kDa EF hand calcium binding protein and is upregulated during the activation of microglia/macrophages. Iba1 (AIF-1) is associated with vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) activation and vascular injury and may be involved in the cytoskeletal signaling network leading to vascular remodeling.
