Identification and enumeration of galectin-3+ cells by flow cytometryClone REA1072 recognizes mouse and human galectin-3, which is a 32 kDa protein belonging to the beta-galactoside-binding animal lectin family. Galectin-3, also known as Mac-2, has an IgE-binding activity and is localized in Kupffer cells, macrophages, human peripheral blood monocytes, and murine activated T cells. An upregulated expression of galectin-3 is observed during cell proliferation, differentiation, and inflammation. | Additional information: Clone REA1072 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
